A Letter from Archbishop Vigneron

Brothers and Sisters, A very important election is upon us. I pray that all of us will vote in accordance to God’s Will and in accordance to His Teachings. As you are well aware of, voting no on Proposal 3 is absolutely vital. Here are a few points from a brief message the Archbishop mailed to all of us. The Archbishop states:

We are less than two months from the November 8 election, during which voters in Michigan will decide on an issue of paramount importance to protecting the inherent, God-given dignity of all people.

Our next election on November 8 is rapidly approaching and we need to do our part. We know the Rosary is powerful and when Our Blessed Mother intercedes on our behalf, many prayers are answered.

Great St. Anne, whose name our parish bears, protect us and pray for us, that like you, we may serve God faithfully here on Earth and be with Him in Heaven for all eternity. Amen.

Congratulations to Fr. John Kopson who was just appointed Moderator of the In Solidum team of priests who, with the other priests of the team, will lead the newly formed Central Macomb Vicariate Family 3 effective July 1, 2022.

In response to our Church's need for holy men to hear God's call to the priesthood, you are invited to join Archbishop Vigneron in a Year of Prayer for Priestly Vocations beginning Pentecost Sunday. All men and women, families, schools, and parishes are invited to pray with deep faith and trust that the Lord will call our future priests during this year of prayer. Our future priests need special graces to answer the call in our current world; your role is to pray for the men God is calling to be priests after his own heart. Let us serve them as God calls them to serve us.

Please join us this Friday, March 25 as we join our Holy Father Pope Francis in consecrating Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

We Need To Hear From You! What Are St. Anne Parish’s Strengths, Weaknesses, And Opportunities?

The Archdiocese of Detroit Department of Communications shares with you a statement from Archbishop Vigneron concerning the situation in Ukraine: "Pope Francis has spoken of his heartfelt anguish and concern for the worsening situation in Ukraine.

This is the antiphon line for the Church’s daytime prayer today 12/1/21 which happens to be on the day the supreme court is hearing arguments on a landmark abortion case: “This is the good news the prophets foretold: The Savior will be born of the Virgin Mary”. Indeed! Precious babies being born is good news! Please let us pray for an end to abortion. God Bless You! Fr. John

Yesterday Fr. John was a guest homilist at the National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica during their 7pm Mass celebrating the Feast Day of St. Therese. In case you missed we are pleased to share this inspiring homily.

I like this picture I took today on the 20th anniversary of 9/11. The flag flying at half mast that is just about (but not yet) fully enclosed by the chain fence makes me think of being in danger….the rising waters of the flood are up to our chins but has not yet covered us. We are still alive and we live for Jesus. We are fighting for the salvation of souls. We have to evangelize/preach the Gospel! In the background are the blue skies.  Help is on the way. Jesus will rescue us. We just have to battle in the meantime as He protects, encourages, and strengthens us. Let’s roll. God Bless You, Fr. John Kopson

Everyone deserves to be treated with respect and dignity. The Equality Act, which is coming up for a vote in the Senate soon, in many ways does the opposite and needs to be opposed. Instead of respecting differences in beliefs about marriage and sexuality, the Equality Act would discriminate against people of faith.
